African countries are facing a shortage of Cholera vaccine, amidst the increasing cholera cases in the region.
Cholera is a life-threatening infectious disease and also considered to be a public health hazard.
It is caused by the infection of the intestine with the bacterium Vibrio Cholerae.
So far in 2023, there have been 27,300 new cases of Cholera in 5 African countries.
The transmission of the disease occurs by drinking or eating food made of contaminated water with the Cholera Bacterium.
