The Kambalakonda Wildlife Sanctuary is a forest situated near Visakhapatnam, near Andhra Pradesh.
The area is a tropical deciduous forest with a mixed composition of scrubland and meadows.
It is bordered by Simhachalam hill range on the west and Gambheeram reservoir on the north-east.
Indicator species - Indian Leopard.
Other important fauna- Indian clouded Gecko, Bulbul, Barbets,Cuckoo, Flycatcher, Hornbill, Starlings and Leafbirds.
Jamuna tree, Red cutch tree, Indigo, Rosewood, Neemuch are the major flora of the region.
The state's forest department is initiating a series of measures to develop the place and document the flora and fauna of the sanctuary.
