MIIRA



MIIRA stands for Millet International Initiative for Research awareness.


On the sidelines of the G20 presidency, India is planning to propose the launch of a global initiative to encourage the production and consumption of millets.


The Secretariat is at New Delhi, India.


This initiative aims to connect the millet research organizations across the world while also supporting research on millet crops.


The initiative aligns with the UN's declaration of 2023 as the International year of Millets. 


India will contribute the "seed money" while eating G20 memento will later have to contribute to its budget through a membership fee.
