The Rashtriya Gokul Mission is a focused project under the National Programme for Bovine Breeding and Dairy Development.
It aims to conserve and develop indigenous breeds in a focused and scientific manner.
The scheme is said to be continued till 2025-26 with an allocation of ₹2400 crore.
Some of the missions to be implemented include - Enhance milk production and productivity, upgrade non descript cattle using elite indigenous breeds, distribute disease free high genetic merit bulls for natural service.
